UnderGrowth: 2022 Durkan DSCVR Design Competition
My first ever pattern design in photoshop, Undergrowth, focused on looking at the things we are surrounded by from a different perspective. This textural design exposed me to the digital realm of fibers. I submitted my design into the Durkan DSCVR Student Design Competition and made it into the top 10 finalists! I am very happy to say that my design ended up placing second in the Competition for 2022!
The Ballad of the Blooms: 2023 Durkan DSCVR Design Competition
The inspiration for the concept of this design stems from movement. Thinking about the way flowers gently sway in the breeze, the flow of couples dancing, and the way fabric drapes and sweeps. “The Ballad of the Blooms” tells the story of chrysanthemums as though they are floating along a ballroom floor with delicacy and ease. It is a design that is meant to draw one in, luring each visitor towards the center of the room and making them long to stay through its enamoring effect.
